Laurel Lee
R · U.S. House, FL-15 · Tier 1/2
Tier 1/2, between “Firmly pro-Israel” and “Mainstream pro-Israel”
Former Florida Secretary of State whose only Israel statement in her release archive came after Iran’s October 2024 missile strike: “I am praying for the people of Israel as they defend themselves”, adding that “the United States must show our unwavering support for Israel as they fight for their right to exist”. She voted for every tracked Israel measure — the November 2023 and February 2024 Israel-only supplementals, the April 2024 package, censuring Tlaib, H.Res.894, the Antisemitism Awareness Act, the bill forcing delivery of paused weapons, both ICC-sanctions bills and the September 2026 anti-boycott bill — and against the Greene (2025) and Massie (2026) cuts to Israel’s military aid. She cosponsored the October 2023 “Standing with Israel” resolution (H.Res.771), the Antisemitism Awareness Act, a 2023 bill barring federal contracts with companies that boycott Israel (H.R.4564) and the 2025 U.S.-Israel Defense Partnership Act (H.R.1229). Her one sponsored bill touching the subject restores Holocaust survivors’ claims to Nazi-looted art (June 2025). Asked in iVoterGuide’s 2026 general-election questionnaire whether the U.S. relationship with Israel is important, Lee answered: “Yes, Israel and the United States share a deep relationship based on shared values and strategic interests. Israel is unequivocally America’s most dependable ally in a precarious and strategically important area of the world.”
A 1/2, not a clean 1. The voting record is zero-daylight and her statements speak only of Israel defending itself, with no word for Palestinian civilians, so a flat 2 is out. There is no leadership on the issue: no authored Israel legislation (the Holocaust-art bill is restitution law, not Israel policy), no caucus role and almost no public Israel messaging. Counter-case: the record is thin, so a later statement could move it either way.
