D · U.S. House, KS-1 · Tier 2/3

Tier 2/3, between “Mainstream pro-Israel” and “Pro-Israel, critical”

Position

She has not named Gaza or the Palestinians. Asked in a Manhattan Mercury voters guide published October 23, 2026 what role the United States should play in “foreign conflicts involving Ukraine, Israel, Iran and other countries,” she answered: “As your congresswoman, I will vote for swift resolution of all conflicts and focus on defense, refusing to fund attacks on civilians.” At 2026 primary forums she blamed Israel for the Iran war: the result of “this President letting Israel order us to go to war” (KU Young Dems town hall, April 14) and a war “ill-informed, ill-conceived, directed by Israel” (Barton County debate, May 23), where her closing listed rural voters “upset with the US taking orders from Israel.” A former Legal Aid and immigration attorney and Social Security Administration official, she runs on rural health care, agriculture, workers’ rights, immigration reform and Social Security, and opposes cuts to SNAP and USAID.

Why this tier

A thin 2/3, on one written answer and two forum remarks. Asked in an October 2026 Manhattan Mercury voters guide about the U.S. role in conflicts involving Ukraine, Israel and Iran, she said she would “focus on defense, refusing to fund attacks on civilians”: a condition on how U.S. money is used, but one that names no country. At 2026 primary forums she blamed Israel for the Iran war (“directed by Israel”). She has not named Gaza or the Palestinians and takes no position on aid or arms to Israel by name. Counter-case: unrated, since her one answer on funding names no country and is days old.
