Tier 2, “Mainstream pro-Israel”
Freshman Democrat (in office since January 2025) whose fullest Gaza statement came on the second anniversary of October 7: “over the last two years, there have been too many innocent civilians in Gaza who have been subjected to loss and pain. It is imperative that humanitarian aid is delivered to those in need in Gaza” (Oct 2025). She voted against the July 2026 Massie amendment, saying that “while I disagree with many of the actions of far-right Netanyahu,” it was “poorly drafted and hyper-partisan” and “endangers the delivery of crucial humanitarian aid,” and that U.S. policy must change as the aid agreement expires “to ensure the safety and security of both Israelis and Palestinians.” She voted against the 2025 Greene amendment and the September 2026 anti-boycott bill, did not vote on the January 2025 ICC-sanctions bill, and voted for the June 4, 2026 Lebanon war-powers resolution that most Democrats opposed. In August 2025 she joined an AIPAC-affiliated American Israel Education Foundation trip to Israel; she signed the 2025 letters seeking medical visas for Gaza’s children and opposing West Bank annexation.
A flat 2, with a case for 1/2. She has no leadership on the issue, and her votes are mainstream — No on the Greene cut and, with fewer than half of voting Democrats, on the Massie amendment — with two exceptions: the anti-boycott Nay, cast with most Democrats, and the June 4 Lebanon war-powers Yea, which most of her party opposed. What holds her at a flat 2 is the October 2025 statement naming the loss suffered by “innocent civilians in Gaza” and calling aid to them “imperative,” made without self-defense language in the same statement. Counter-case: 1/2, since that statement and the Gaza medical-visa letter she signed are set against an AIPAC-affiliated Israel trip and a Massie No whose explanation, criticism of Netanyahu aside, rested on protecting aid and diplomacy rather than on any limit to weapons.
