Macey Budke

I · U.S. House, NE-3 · Tier 2/3

Tier 2/3, between “Mainstream pro-Israel” and “Pro-Israel, critical”

Position

A North Platte behavioral-health practice manager running as the Nebraska Working People Party nominee in NE-3, she campaigns on rural health care, schools, agriculture and accountable leadership. Asked in iVoterGuide’s 2026 general-election questionnaire whether the U.S. relationship with Israel is important, Budke answered: “The U.S. relationship with Israel is important for regional security, diplomacy, and intelligence cooperation. That relationship should not be treated as unconditional approval of the Israeli government. U.S. support should come with clear expectations for civilian protection, lawful conduct, humanitarian access, and accountability when those standards are not met.”

Why this tier

A 2/3, on a thin record: two questionnaire answers. In iVoterGuide’s 2026 questionnaire Budke called the U.S. relationship with Israel important but wrote that it “should not be treated as unconditional approval of the Israeli government” and that U.S. support “should come with clear expectations for civilian protection, lawful conduct, humanitarian access, and accountability when those standards are not met.” In the Nebraska Examiner’s 2026 voter guide she wrote that “Foreign aid and military support should have clear goals, conditions, oversight and a defined endpoint” and that “Israel has a right to exist and defend itself, but that does not justify unconditional aid, civilian harm or actions that further destabilize the region.” Those are expectations, set beside a right-to-defend line, and she names nothing she would withhold: no weapon, no bill, no point at which aid would stop. She says nothing on the genocide, and her campaign site and Ballotpedia survey are silent on Israel, Gaza and Palestine. Counter-case: 3, reading her “conditions” on military support and “accountability when those standards are not met” as conditioning aid on Israel’s conduct.
