Cosponsors ‘Not on Our Dime,’ was arrested twice in Oct 2023 at ceasefire protests (outside Schumer’s apartment and Gillibrand’s office) and again in August 2025 at a Gaza rally near Schumer’s home that called for an arms embargo, co-signed the Socialists-in-Office statement naming ‘the ongoing genocide in Gaza’ and ‘apartheid,’ and signed a JVP Action ceasefire letter. That combination — the material measure, genocide/apartheid framing, and sustained direct action — places her at Tier 5 for a state legislator and makes hers the strongest record among the Not-on-Our-Dime cosponsors rostered at Tier 5. She settles at 5 rather than 5/6 because she holds no position questioning Israel’s legitimacy — no BDS by name, anti-Zionist self-identification, rejection of Israel as a Jewish state or support for the right of return. Cosponsoring the bill is a measure, not a position on Israel’s legitimacy.
