Tier 1, “Firmly pro-Israel”

Position

Led a five-member letter protesting Biden’s May 2024 pause on bomb shipments, saying “America must provide them with any and all resources necessary to finish the mission” (May 2024), and on the first anniversary of October 7 pledged to give Israel “the time, space, and resources needed to wipe out Hamas,” having said three days earlier, as he released his trip video, that “Israel must eradicate Hamas entirely” (Oct 2024). He toured the October 7 attack sites in April 2024, guided in his trip video by an American Israel Education Foundation representative, and met Netanyahu in late 2024; after the May 2025 killing of two Israeli embassy staffers he asked the administration to probe the Party for Socialism and Liberation for terrorist ties and to monitor foreign funding of groups “organizing anti-Israel and antisemitic events,” citing a party gala for the Middle Eastern Children’s Alliance, a Palestinian children’s aid charity his letter described as having “reported ties” to the PFLP. He voted for both Israel-only supplementals, the April 2024 package (H.R.8034), the bill forcing delivery of the paused bomb shipment (H.R.8369), both ICC-sanctions bills, H.Res.894, the censure of Rashida Tlaib and the September 2026 anti-boycott bill, and against the 2025 Greene and 2026 Massie cuts. In an interview with All Israel News (Oct 29, 2026) on Israel’s Oct 27 election and the fraud claims that followed, he said “My support for Israel has never been conditional on any single election or political figure,” that allegations of fraud “must be taken seriously and investigated thoroughly by the proper authorities,” and that his support for Israel “remains absolute and unconditional. Whatever the final results and whatever coalition forms, the United States must stand firmly with the people of Israel and their security.”

Why this tier

A 1. The voting record is zero-daylight and his statements back the assault on Gaza without reservation — “wipe out Hamas,” “finish the mission” — with no word on Palestinian civilians. What places him at 1 is leadership through the letters he has led, three of them pressing for crackdowns: a May 2025 letter urging a probe of the Party for Socialism and Liberation that cast a Palestinian children’s charity as PFLP-linked, a 2023 letter urging the White House to adopt the IHRA definition of antisemitism, and a November 2025 letter, prompted by a sermon at a Kansas mosque, seeking an investigation of “potential coordination between domestic Islamic religious institutions and designated Foreign Terrorist Organizations.” He also led a five-member letter against the 2024 arms pause. He has written no Israel legislation and holds no Israel caucus role. Counter-case: 1/2, since these are letters from a rank-and-file member rather than investigations he runs.
