Tier 1/2, between “Firmly pro-Israel” and “Mainstream pro-Israel”
A Trump-endorsed former Pinal County sheriff and 2024 Senate candidate, he runs on the border, policing and spending. In May 2024 his Senate campaign said he “called out colleges for allowing pro-hamas protests,” whose participants it called “paid actors,” and that the protests “should not be allowed.” He frames foreign aid as money the country cannot afford (“Every dollar sent overseas is borrowed money,” his campaign wrote of an April 2026 podcast), including a February 2024 attack on the Senate border-and-aid bill that his campaign summarized as faulting its “significant funds going to Ukraine and Israel”; his own statement on the bill the next day objected to its Ukraine money, aid through NGOs and “$9.2 billion dollars in taxpayer monies to sustain global humanitarian assistance by providing assistance to Ukraine, Gaza, East Africa, South Asia, and elsewhere,” and did not mention Israel.
A thin 1/2. He has said nothing about Israel itself; what places him is his hostility to campus Gaza protests and to humanitarian aid for Gaza. In May 2024 his Senate campaign said he “called out colleges for allowing pro-hamas protests,” whose participants it called “paid actors,” and that the protests “should not be allowed.” His February 2024 statement against the Senate border-and-aid bill objected to “$9.2 billion dollars in taxpayer monies to sustain global humanitarian assistance by providing assistance to Ukraine, Gaza, East Africa, South Asia, and elsewhere” and did not mention the bill’s money for Israel. He has said nothing about Palestinian civilians, and with no office he has led nothing on the issue. FEC filings show no pro-Israel PAC money in 2022, 2024 or 2026. On a thin record: two posts from his 2024 Senate campaign, neither about Israel’s aid or weapons. Counter-case: unrated, since his opposition to foreign aid is blanket and his campaign’s account of a TV interview the day before faulted the bill’s “significant funds going to Ukraine and Israel.”
