Tier 3/4, between “Pro-Israel, critical” and “Critical / conditions aid”

Position

A July 2026 campaign press release headed “Ronny Jackson puts Israel First, Texans Second” attacks Rep. Ronny Jackson for authoring the FY2027 defense-bill provision to merge U.S. and Israeli defense research and industry, and says America has spent billions on the Iran war, “not to mention the billions sent to Israel as it has continued its genocide against the Palestinian people.” An Amarillo inventor, college instructor and former city councilman running a “People First” campaign, he is the TX-13 Democratic nominee against Jackson.

Why this tier

A 3/4. His campaign calls Israel's assault on Gaza a genocide and attacks both the billions in aid and the plan to fuse U.S. and Israeli defense research — criticism aimed at arming Israel, not only at how the war is fought. But he has made no pledge to condition or withhold weapons, and the statements come in an attack on his opponent rather than a platform position, so they reach 3/4 and not 4. Counter-case: a 3, reading the release as opposition research rather than a policy commitment.
