Mark Teixeira

R · U.S. House, TX-21 · Tier 1/2

Tier 1/2, between “Firmly pro-Israel” and “Mainstream pro-Israel”

Position

Asked in his 2026 general-election iVoterGuide questionnaire whether the U.S. relationship with Israel is important, he answered: “Yes. I believe in President Trump’s mission to work with our allies to establish lasting peace in the region.” A former major-league baseball player and World Series champion (Rangers, Braves, Angels, Yankees), the Trump-endorsed TX-21 Republican nominee for the open seat runs on President Trump's America First agenda; his platform's foreign-policy plank — “End forever wars and put America's interests first at home and abroad” — names no country.

Why this tier

A thin 1/2. His one answer on Israel affirms the relationship as U.S. policy: asked in iVoterGuide’s 2026 general-election questionnaire whether the U.S. relationship with Israel is important, he wrote, “Yes. I believe in President Trump’s mission to work with our allies to establish lasting peace in the region.” He says nothing on aid, weapons, Gaza or Palestinian civilians, so there is no daylight, and with no office he has led nothing on the issue. AIPAC endorsed him, and FEC filings show $16,875 from AIPAC’s PAC and $17,830 from the RJC PAC in 2026. On a thin record: one questionnaire answer from 2026; his campaign site (all 123 sitemap pages) and Ballotpedia profile say nothing on Israel or Gaza. Counter-case: unrated, since the answer speaks of “lasting peace” and names no aid or arms, and the same questionnaire picks the view that the U.S. “has become too involved in others’ policies” and lists ending “foreign aid that doesn’t advance American interests” among his priorities.
