Mary L. Sanders

I · U.S. House, CT-1 · not rated

Position

No documented position on Gaza, Palestinians or military aid to Israel found. A Hartford peace activist and former executive director of the Spanish Speaking Center of New Britain, making her third run as the Green nominee in CT-1, she has campaigned on climate, nuclear disarmament and “ending cruel sanctions and blockades on Cuba and around the world.” Asked in iVoterGuide’s 2024 general-election questionnaire whether the U.S. relationship with Israel is important, Sanders answered: “The United States’ relationship with Israel is important but only as important as our relationship with other countries. We should work with all countries to diplomatically foster peaceful relationships …”

Why not rated

Not rated: the one statement on Israel is the 2024 iVoterGuide answer quoted above, which ranks the relationship “only as important as our relationship with other countries” and says nothing on Gaza, Palestinians or military aid. She left iVoterGuide’s 2022 BDS question and its 2026 Israel question unanswered. Her Ballotpedia page (2020 and 2022 surveys; none in 2024 or 2026) never mentions Israel, Gaza or Palestine, and she has no campaign website; her Connecticut Green Party candidate page lists only the office and her Facebook. Unrated until an Israel-specific position is stated.
