Tier 3, “Pro-Israel, critical”
Runs as “An Independent Man for Peace”; his campaign site features a video captioned “Gaza Is a Tragedy — A call for peace, not more bombs,” published on YouTube as “Mercy Over Endless Conflict in Gaza.” His platform pledges to make “ending war and international conflicts his focus” and faults congressional dependence on lobbyists and PACs “when it comes to military spending and the sale of bombs and other military equipment.” In the Gaza video he says “Over 73,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza,” calls it “A tragedy America helped fund with over $24 billion in additional military aid to Israel since October 7th,” and says “We still fund Israel as they push to resettle all of Gaza” and “Our tax dollars should be used to build our future, not destroy someone else’s”; the video’s YouTube description says he “speaks against continued U.S. military funding that prolongs suffering,” but he makes no explicit pledge to condition or cut off arms to Israel and does not say genocide.
A 3, on a thin record. His words set humanitarian concern for Gaza and a call for “peace, not more bombs” against an anti-war platform that singles out weapons sales — a critical step beyond reliable support, with no pro-Israel frame-keeping on the record. It stays at 3 because, though his Gaza video faults the U.S. military aid behind the killing (“We still fund Israel as they push to resettle all of Gaza”), he makes no explicit pledge to condition or withhold arms from Israel (the video’s description says only that he “speaks against continued U.S. military funding that prolongs suffering”), and he does not name the genocide. Open to 3/4 if he pledges to stop U.S. bombs to Israel.
