A retired Army colonel and physician running as an independent in MT-2 on rural health care, Medicaid, housing and farm costs. His campaign site’s “Why Independent?” page says “President Trump has done some good things for our country that I clearly support,” naming among them “support for Israel in their battle against Hamas (the organization, not the people of Gaza or the West Bank).” His other Middle East lines are “End the War in the Middle East,” in an agriculture plank about fertilizer prices after the Iran war intermittently blocked the Strait of Hormuz, and “End this illegitimate and illegal war in the Middle-East,” in an October 2026 Montana Free Press answer on lowering costs.
A thin 1/2, on one clause in a list. His campaign site’s “Why Independent?” page (December 2025) says “President Trump has done some good things for our country that I clearly support,” naming among them “support for Israel in their battle against Hamas (the organization, not the people of Gaza or the West Bank).” That backs Israel’s war itself, with nothing on aid, arms or Gaza’s civilians; the parenthesis sets Gaza’s people apart from Hamas but voices no concern for them. His calls to “End the War in the Middle East” and end the “illegitimate and illegal war in the Middle East” are about the Iran war and the Strait of Hormuz, not Gaza. He holds no office and has led nothing on the issue, and FEC filings show no pro-Israel PAC money. He has not answered Ballotpedia’s survey or iVoterGuide’s 2026 questionnaire, which asks about Israel. Counter-case: 2, reading the parenthesis as a faint qualifier that separates Gaza’s people from the war’s target; or unrated, since it is one clause in a list of Trump policies.
