Michael Rulli
R · U.S. House, OH-6 · Tier 1/2
Tier 1/2, between “Firmly pro-Israel” and “Mainstream pro-Israel”
Elected in a June 2024 special election, Rulli has voted with Israel on every tracked measure since: Aye on barring the State Department from citing the Gaza Health Ministry’s casualty figures (Jun 2024), Yea on the January 2025 ICC-sanctions bill and the September 2026 anti-boycott bill, and No on the 2025 Greene and 2026 Massie cuts to Israel’s military funding; he also voted against every 2026 Iran war-powers resolution and both Lebanon resolutions. He cosponsored the 2024 bill giving Congress oversight of any change to arms sales to Israel (H.R.8437), the October 2024 resolution calling for Hamas’s unconditional surrender and the U.S.-Israel Defense Partnership Act (2025). His official and campaign sites carry no statement on Israel, Gaza or Palestinians; his “America First” plank says “I oppose endless foreign wars.”
A 1/2, on a thin record. Rulli’s votes and cosponsorships since June 2024 show no daylight — including the vote to stop the State Department citing Gaza’s casualty figures and a bill written after the May 2024 bomb pause — but cosponsoring is not leadership, and beyond his signature on the October 2024 Lawler–Moskowitz letter warning the UN Secretary-General against downgrading Israel’s status (“We will not accept the U.N.’s ongoing hostility to our ally Israel”), no statement on Israel, Gaza or Palestinians was found, so there is neither leadership on the issue nor any expressed concern for Palestinian civilians. His “endless foreign wars” language has not translated into any vote to limit Israel’s arms or U.S. involvement in Iran or Lebanon. Open to revision if statements surface.
