Tier 1, “Firmly pro-Israel”
Trump-endorsed, AIPAC-backed Georgia congressman and the Republican Senate nominee against Jon Ossoff. In February 2024 he introduced the House companion to Marco Rubio’s Safe Passage on Interstates Act (H.R.7349), saying it gives law enforcement “the tools necessary to deal with people who intentionally block highways like the pro-Hamas activists who caused mass traffic disruption across D.C.” He has voted for every tracked Israel measure except the Antisemitism Awareness Act, which he opposed as one of 21 Republicans; no statement of his own reason was found. In his Oct 8, 2026 debate with Jon Ossoff he tied Ossoff to Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed, who he said “hates Israel, loves Iran,” and defended the Iran war: “Iran doesn’t only want to decimate and kill Israel. They want us as well.” Asked in iVoterGuide’s 2026 general-election questionnaire whether the U.S. relationship with Israel is important, Collins answered: “Yes, and we should protect the rights of our allies to defend themselves.” In their second debate, on Oct 13, 2026, he accused Ossoff of spending “his time in Washington focused on how he could defund our greatest ally Israel” and called El-Sayed “the guy that hates Israel” (JTA).
A 1 for leading a crackdown on Palestine-solidarity protest. In February 2024 he introduced the House companion to Marco Rubio’s Safe Passage on Interstates Act (H.R.7349), which would make intentionally obstructing an interstate highway a federal crime carrying up to 15 years in prison, and pitched it in his own words as giving law enforcement “the tools necessary to deal with people who intentionally block highways like the pro-Hamas activists who caused mass traffic disruption across D.C.” His House votes are on the pro-Israel side throughout — the 2023–24 aid bills, the bill forcing delivery of the paused bombs, both ICC-sanctions bills and the 2026 college anti-boycott bill, and No on the Greene and Massie cuts — apart from an unexplained Nay on the Antisemitism Awareness Act. Counter-case: 1/2, since the bill copies one Rubio filed in January 2023, is written as a general highway-obstruction crime and never left committee.
