Mike Haridopolos
R · U.S. House, FL-8 · Tier 1/2
Tier 1/2, between “Firmly pro-Israel” and “Mainstream pro-Israel”
First-term member (2025) with a zero-daylight record: Yea on the January 2025 ICC-sanctions bill and the September 2026 anti-boycott bill, No on the 2025 Greene and 2026 Massie cuts to Israel’s military funding, and Nay on every 2026 Iran and Lebanon war-powers resolution; in early 2025 he cosponsored the IGO Anti-Boycott Act (H.R.867) and the U.S.-Israel Defense Partnership Act (H.R.1229), in June 2025 a resolution standing with Israel against Iran (H.Res.521) and an American-Hellenic-Israeli Eastern Mediterranean security bill (H.R.2510), and he was an original cosponsor of McDowell’s May 2025 resolution condemning antisemitism after two Israeli embassy staffers were killed in Washington (H.Res.447). In an August 2025 Fox Business segment his office reposted — headlined “Mike Haridopolos warns targeting Israeli firms while funding China is 'virtue signaling'” — he discussed “Norway’s move against Israel”; in March 2026 local TV reported him saying the U.S. should avoid “boots on the ground” in Iran. As a Florida state senator in January 2009 he was one of eleven co-introducers of Ted Deutch’s resolution expressing “solidarity with Israel in its defense against terrorism in the Gaza Strip” (SR 66-A).
A 1/2, on a thin record. Haridopolos has voted with Israel on every tracked measure since taking office and shows neither leadership on the issue nor any expressed concern for Palestinian civilians. His Israel-specific positions are anti-divestment — against Norway’s move on Israeli firms in a TV segment, and a cosponsorship of the IGO Anti-Boycott Act — plus cosponsorships of Israel security measures, positions he voiced or joined, not legislation he wrote or a sustained brand; the 2009 Florida Senate resolution of solidarity with Israel was Ted Deutch’s, with Haridopolos one of eleven co-introducers. Open to revision if statements surface.
