Mike Kennedy
R · U.S. House, UT-4 · Tier 1/2
Tier 1/2, between “Firmly pro-Israel” and “Mainstream pro-Israel”
Utah freshman whose House press releases carry no statements on Israel or Gaza; his January 2026 Deseret News op-ed on Iran, written with Khosrow B. Semnani, describes Khamenei’s “proxy wars against the United States and Israel” and says “The recent Twelve-Day War between Iran and Israel has done more than destroy Iran’s nuclear program.” Since taking office he has voted for ICC sanctions (Jan 2025), H.R.8595 and the September 2026 anti-boycott bill, and against the 2025 Greene and 2026 Massie cuts and every 2026 Iran and Lebanon war-powers resolution, and he was an original cosponsor of the May 2025 resolution condemning antisemitism after two Israeli embassy staffers were killed in Washington (H.Res.447).
A 1/2, not a clean 1, on a thin record. His votes since 2025 are pro-Israel throughout and no statement of concern for Palestinian civilians surfaced, which rules out a flat 2; with no authored Israel legislation, caucus role or fundraising brand, nothing marks leadership. His only writing on the Middle East is Iran-framed, so a statement surfacing either way could change the call.
