Mike Klein

I · U.S. House, FL-3 · Tier 3/4

Tier 3/4, between “Pro-Israel, critical” and “Critical / conditions aid”

Position

His campaign homepage and endorsements page display the endorsement card of Track AIPAC, which endorsed him on October 12; the card says he “recognizes genocide” and “supports an arms embargo,” and the group’s post says he “condemns the genocide in Gaza” and “supports an immediate arms embargo.” In his own words, asked in a September interview with GnvInfo about Florida’s Israel bonds and U.S. aid, he said “I have signed the [anti]-AIPAC pledge” and that the corruption that influences government “is directly related to who donates to campaigns. So we should clean that up first.” On the Oscar Mike Radio podcast (posted September 25) he cited “the pressure from Israel” behind the Iran war and faulted Alex Vindman’s support for Israel, his unwillingness to refuse AIPAC money and his silence on the defense bill’s “integration merger between Israel and US technology and data,” adding “not to get into the politics of that.” A West Point graduate and Desert Storm veteran who chairs Warrior Centric Health, running as an independent on getting money out of politics, he opposed the Iraq War, and his platform says foreign policy must serve Americans, “not special interests, defense contractors, or foreign lobbying groups,” without naming a country.

Why this tier

A 3/4, on a thin record that rests mostly on an endorser’s words. His campaign homepage and endorsements page display Track AIPAC’s endorsement card, which says he “recognizes genocide” and “supports an arms embargo”; the group’s October 12 post says he “condemns the genocide in Gaza” and “supports an immediate arms embargo.” Showing the card takes on those words, but they are the group’s summary of him. His own words on Israel are about money and the Iran war: asked by GnvInfo in September about Florida’s Israel bonds and U.S. aid, he said “I have signed the [anti]-AIPAC pledge” and turned to campaign finance (“So we should clean that up first”); on a September podcast he cited “the pressure from Israel” behind the Iran war. He has not been found speaking on Gaza, the genocide or aid himself, and his platform’s “foreign lobbying groups” line names no country. Counter-case: a 4, since a challenger who displays a card naming the genocide and backing an arms embargo has made that embargo part of his campaign.
