Pamela Moses

I · U.S. House, TN-8 · Tier 2

Tier 2, “Mainstream pro-Israel”

Position

Asked in iVoterGuide’s 2024 Senate questionnaire whether “the United States’ relationship with Israel” is important, she answered: “The relationship between the United States and Israel is indeed important, but it is equally crucial that we examine this relationship through the lens of our shared values of human rights, justice, and peace. While Israel is a key ally in a strategically important region, our support for any nation must align with our commitment to protecting the innocent and upholding the principles of fairness and humanity. The ongoing conflict in the region has led to significant suffering.” A Memphis voting-rights activist, musician and founder of Black Lives Matter Memphis who ran for the U.S. Senate in 2024, she runs on criminal-justice reform, healthcare, food security and reparations; her 2026 survey faults leaders who “claim to seek peace while dragging us into conflicts abroad.”

Why this tier

A 2, on a thin record: one questionnaire answer, from her 2024 U.S. Senate run. Asked by iVoterGuide whether the U.S. relationship with Israel is important, Moses called it “indeed important” and Israel “a key ally in a strategically important region,” but wrote that “our support for any nation must align with our commitment to protecting the innocent and upholding the principles of fairness and humanity,” and added: “The ongoing conflict in the region has led to significant suffering.” That is support for the alliance with humanitarian concern of her own, with no line on Israel’s right to defend itself and no position on aid or weapons. Her campaign site and her 2024 and 2026 Ballotpedia surveys never mention Israel or Gaza, her other foreign-policy lines are general, and she has not answered Vote411 or iVoterGuide’s 2026 questionnaire. Counter-case: 2/3, reading “must align with … protecting the innocent” as a conditioning principle, beside her choice on iVoterGuide that the United States “has become too involved in others’ policies.”
