Tier 1/2, between “Firmly pro-Israel” and “Mainstream pro-Israel”
No statement on Israel, Gaza or Palestine in her own words found. A Monroe state representative since 2019 and former Ouachita Parish police juror, she co-authored and voted for the 2019 law letting public bodies reject the low bid of a vendor that boycotts Israel (HB 245, Act 155; House 96-0) and the Legislature’s 2021 resolution (HCR 96, House 87-0) urging Congress to “take such actions as are necessary to support Israel”, and in June 2025 voted for HR 167 (85-0), urging campuses to combat antisemitism “guided by the IHRA working definition”; she was absent for the 2024 resolution backing Israel’s war in Gaza. Her campaign runs on health care, farms and family costs.
A 1/2, on a thin record of statehouse acts. She was one of 34 listed authors, under lead author Rep. Valarie Hodges, of the Legislature’s 2021 resolution urging Congress to “take such actions as are necessary to support Israel” and to remain “a strong and unequivocal supporter of Israel and its right to defend itself” (HCR 96, House 87-0), and in June 2025 she voted for HR 167, urging campuses to combat antisemitism “guided by the IHRA working definition” (85-0). None of it is leadership: she was one of dozens of authors rather than the author, as she also was of the 2019 law letting public bodies reject the low bid of a vendor that boycotts Israel (HB 245, Act 155; House 96-0), the resolutions were nonbinding, all three measures passed without a dissenting vote, and her campaign site and 2026 Ballotpedia survey say nothing about Israel or Gaza. She has voiced no concern for Palestinian civilians. Stewart Cathey, an author of the same resolution in her race, is a 1/2. Counter-case: unrated, since unanimous votes on measures with long author lists say little about one legislator.
