Tier 1/2, between “Firmly pro-Israel” and “Mainstream pro-Israel”

Position

A Deschutes County Commissioner and CPA who also has the Libertarian nomination, she runs on affordability, public safety, natural resources and a congressional stock-trading ban. Asked at an October 10, 2026 League of Women Voters forum whether the U.S. should continue to send funding to Israel, she said Israel “is a democracy, and I do believe that we should support it,” that “America has to keep supporting that democracy,” and “So yes, I believe in supporting Israel.”

Why this tier

A 1/2, on a thin record: one forum answer. At an October 10, 2026 League of Women Voters forum in Deschutes County, asked whether the U.S. should keep funding Israel, she said Israel “is a democracy, and I do believe that we should support it,” that “America has to keep supporting that democracy,” and “So yes, I believe in supporting Israel.” She framed the answer through the Holocaust and praise for Ambassador Huckabee and said nothing on Gaza or its civilians. That is support for continued funding with no daylight and no leadership. Her campaign pages are local and fiscal apart from an October 2026 pledge to back a War Powers Resolution to end the Iran war (“Our nation cannot afford another costly forever war in the Middle East”), which names no position on Israel. Her FEC filings show no pro-Israel PAC money in 2022, 2024 or 2026. Counter-case: 2, on her passing “we can always question what’s going on” and her stand against the Iran war, though neither voices concern for Palestinians or limits support for Israel.
