Tier 3/4, between “Pro-Israel, critical” and “Critical / conditions aid”
He is a Utah State political-science graduate and research-firm director. At an Aug 26, 2026 town hall in Logan he called Israel “a bad ally,” said of Gaza “It’s genocide now,” and said he is “adamantly opposed to American tax dollars being spent on bombs that kill kids,” defining genocide as targeting civilians “with the intent to either wipe out or remove that population from the geographic area in which they live” (Cache Valley Daily, Aug 28, 2026; his campaign lists the story in its newsroom). In the reporter’s paraphrase he also blamed Israel for drawing the U.S. into the war with Iran.
A 3/4, on a thin record: two town halls, the clearer of them known through one local paper’s report. At an Aug 26, 2026 town hall in Logan, according to the Cache Valley Daily, he said of Gaza “It’s genocide now,” defining genocide as targeting civilians “with the intent to either wipe out or remove that population from the geographic area in which they live,” and added “I am adamantly opposed to American tax dollars being spent on bombs that kill kids.” That pairs the genocide, named in his own voice, with a stand against funding the bombs, but it rests on a single event known through a reporter’s account (his campaign lists the story in its newsroom). At an earlier Our Vote Counts town hall (Dec 16, 2025, on video in the same newsroom), asked whether the U.S. should keep funding Israel, he answered more generally: he cited Eisenhower’s rejection of “direct support for that country because of their militantism” and said tax dollars “should be prioritized to help American citizens” and policy should reflect “American values and American priorities, not the priorities of a different country.” His policies page states no position on Israel. Counter-case: 4, since both quotes are direct and unhedged.
