Peter Verbica

R · U.S. House, CA-19 · Tier 1/2

Tier 1/2, between “Firmly pro-Israel” and “Mainstream pro-Israel”

Position

His campaign centers on affordability, fiscal policy, agriculture and energy costs. Asked in iVoterGuide’s 2026 general-election questionnaire whether the U.S. relationship with Israel is important, Verbica answered: “It stands as a beacon of democracy surrounded by theocracies and autocracies. Israel is also linked to the US due to the Jewish diaspora and the Judeo-Christian traditions which are integral to Western Civilization.”

Why this tier

A 1/2, on a thin record: one questionnaire answer on Israel, plus a passing mention, in his answer on Islamic terrorism, of the October 7 attack among “Islamic terrorist incidents against the West and its allies.” Asked by iVoterGuide in 2026 whether the U.S. relationship with Israel is important, Verbica called Israel “a beacon of democracy surrounded by theocracies and autocracies,” linked to the U.S. “due to the Jewish diaspora and the Judeo-Christian traditions.” That is unqualified support, with nothing on aid, weapons, Gaza or Palestinian civilians. His campaign site, Ballotpedia profile and 2026 candidate interviews (KSBW, Monterey County Now) contain no statement on Israel, Gaza, military aid or Palestinian rights. There is no leadership on the issue: no vote, bill or other act on Israel is on record. Counter-case: unrated until he says more.
