Peter Williams

R · U.S. House, LA-2 · Tier 1/2

Tier 1/2, between “Firmly pro-Israel” and “Mainstream pro-Israel”

Position

Asked by iVoterGuide in 2026 whether the United States’ relationship with Israel is important, and why, he answered: “Yes. A friend of Israel, has a friend in God.” A Lettsworth tree farmer, former physical-education teacher and recreation director, and Apostolic minister, he lists agriculture, health, housing, education, transportation, recreation and incarceration as his platform, with anti-abortion and traditional-marriage views.

Why this tier

A thin 1/2, on one sentence. Asked by iVoterGuide in 2026 whether the U.S. relationship with Israel is important, and why, he answered: “Yes. A friend of Israel, has a friend in God.” That is unqualified, faith-framed support, with no word on Gaza, Palestinian civilians, military aid or weapons. On a thin record: that one questionnaire answer. His 2026 Ballotpedia survey and profile say nothing about Israel, Gaza, Palestine or foreign policy, and he has no campaign website, only a Facebook page. He has led nothing on the issue, and his FEC filings show no money from the counted pro-Israel committees in 2022, 2024 or 2026. Counter-case: unrated, since a single sentence is a slim basis for any rating, though nothing in his record points toward the critical end.
