Tier 1/2, between “Firmly pro-Israel” and “Mainstream pro-Israel”
His platform’s “Backing Israel” plank reads: “As a Christian, I believe we are called to strongly support Israel. And as an American, I know it’s in our strategic interests to do so against the radical terrorist forces that want to wipe the Jewish people off the face of the planet,” adding support for “President Trump’s efforts to bring sustainable peace to the Middle East and end the endless wars.” A tire-shop owner from Enterprise and Alabama state representative since 2018, he finished second in the voided May 2026 AL-1 primary, then won the August special primary in AL-2, where he faces Rep. Shomari Figures with the endorsements of Trump and the RJC.
A 1/2, not a clean 1. His stated position is the textbook zero-daylight one — strong support for Israel grounded in faith and in the threat to “the Jewish people,” with no word for Palestinian civilians — and the RJC endorses him. Nothing in his record is leadership on the issue: no Israel measure of his own in the Alabama House was found (in March 2026 he was one of 17 co-sponsors of Rep. Mark Gidley’s resolution, which passed both chambers, encouraging state agencies to replace “West Bank” with “Judea and Samaria,” called there “the ancestral heartland of the Jewish people”), and endorsements are not leadership. His “end the endless wars” line is a blanket stance tied to Trump’s peace efforts and moves him toward neither pole.
