Tier 1/2, between “Firmly pro-Israel” and “Mainstream pro-Israel”
His priorities are cost of living, crime and corruption, and term limits. In October 2026 he told the San Diego Union-Tribune that calling the situation in Gaza a genocide “doesn’t make sense” and, by the paper’s account, that he supports U.S. arms sales to Israel and doesn’t trust the United Nations, whose 2025 report found a genocide, though he said he hadn’t read the report. Asked about Gaza, he said, “Americans, we are a warrior culture. Ultimately, when we look at our founding, it was through violence,” and “And so I believe… when we go to war we should win and we should do everything possible to win.”
A 1/2, on a thin record: one newspaper interview. In October 2026 he told the San Diego Union-Tribune that calling the situation in Gaza a genocide “doesn’t make sense” and, by the paper’s account, backed U.S. arms sales to Israel; asked about Gaza, he said “when we go to war we should win and we should do everything possible to win.” That is support for arming Israel and a denial of the genocide, with no concern for Palestinian civilians. His campaign site (issues, mission, term-limits pages), 2026 Ballotpedia survey and the KPBS candidate guide say nothing on Israel, Gaza, military aid or Palestinian rights. Counter-case: 1, if the denial and “do everything possible to win” are read as unconditional backing.
