Rick Allen
R · U.S. House, GA-12 · Tier 1/2
Tier 1/2, between “Firmly pro-Israel” and “Mainstream pro-Israel”
Georgia Republican who calls Israel “the United States' strongest ally in the Middle East” and has voted for every tracked Israel measure: the Israel-only supplementals of November 2023 and February 2024 — praising the first for also clawing back “President Biden's unnecessary IRS funding” — and the April 2024 package, the censure of Rashida Tlaib, H.Res.894, the May 2024 bill to force the paused bomb shipment (H.R.8369, which he cosponsored from its introduction), both ICC-sanctions bills (Jun 2024, Jan 2025), the June 2024 amendment barring use of Gaza Health Ministry casualty figures and the September 2026 college anti-boycott bill, and against the 2025 Greene and 2026 Massie cuts. He was an original cosponsor of H.Res.771 (Oct 2023), saying Congress “stands in solidarity with the people of Israel against the evils of Hamas' terrorism and brutality,” and at a November 2023 telephone town hall pointed to the House resolution condemning support for Hamas on college campuses. Asked in iVoterGuide’s 2026 general-election questionnaire whether the U.S. relationship with Israel is important, Allen answered: “The United States’ relationship with Israel is very important because Israel is a close democratic ally that shares intelligence, military cooperation, and common strategic interests. Supporting Israel also reflects shared values and a moral commitment, while helping strengthen U.S. security and stability in the Middle East.” In January 2024 he signed the Smith–Manning letter, whose signers “thoroughly reject” South Africa’s “charge of genocide” against Israel.
A 1/2. A zero-daylight voting record and statements that speak only of Israel's right to defend itself, with no leadership on the issue: none of his 62 sponsored bills and resolutions or 11 amendments concerns Israel, and joining H.Res.771 as an original cosponsor is a cosponsorship, not authorship. No statement of concern for Gaza's civilians during the genocide was found.
