Rick Crawford

Tier 1/2, between “Firmly pro-Israel” and “Mainstream pro-Israel”
Chair of the House Intelligence Committee, who in summer 2025 led a bipartisan committee delegation to Israel that met Netanyahu and toured the Kerem Shalom aid site, saying “our message was simple—the United States stands with Israel and its people.” Back home, as international agencies warned of growing starvation in Gaza, he said “the Israelis are actually doing a phenomenal job delivering food aid to Gaza,” blamed the hunger on Hamas and said “Hamas needs to be eradicated” (Aug 2025). He voted for every tracked Israel measure: the Israel-only supplementals (Nov 2023, Feb 2024), the April 2024 package, the bill to force the paused bomb shipment (May 2024), ICC sanctions (Jun 2024 and Jan 2025), the amendment barring the State Department from citing Gaza Health Ministry casualty figures (Jun 2024) and the September 2026 college anti-boycott bill, and against the 2025 Greene and 2026 Massie cuts and every 2026 Iran and Lebanon war-powers resolution. In October 2025 he was the lead Republican on Josh Gottheimer’s resolution (H.Res.839) condemning “the killings and acts of terror committed by Hamas against innocent Palestinians in Gaza” after the ceasefire. At an October 14, 2026 debate, after Libertarian Steve Parsons attacked his support for Israel’s strikes in Gaza and cited UN and UNICEF counts of children killed, Crawford asked where the numbers came from and, in a later reply, called Parsons antisemitic: “I’m not antisemitic like the gentleman … on the end here.”
A 1/2, not a clean 1. The votes are zero-daylight, and his only words about Gaza's hunger defended Israel's conduct (“the Israelis are doing the right thing as it applies to Gaza”) and blamed Hamas; the one concern for Palestinian civilians on his record is aimed at Hamas, in the October 2025 resolution he co-led condemning its killings of “innocent Palestinians in Gaza” (H.Res.839). He has sponsored no Israel legislation and leads no Israel caucus; his Israel-related acts of leadership are the summer 2025 delegation he led as Intelligence chair and his co-lead on that resolution. Counter-case: a clean 1 if leading that delegation, and praising Israel's aid delivery while agencies warned of starvation, are read as leadership.
