Rob Bresnahan Jr.
R · U.S. House, PA-8 · Tier 1/2
Tier 1/2, between “Firmly pro-Israel” and “Mainstream pro-Israel”
AIPAC-endorsed first-term Republican. As a member-elect he said “We have to trust the IDF, and we need to provide them the resources that they need to eradicate Hamas,” that Israel is “our only ally in the Middle East and we need to be there for them,” and that the U.S. should defer to Israel; Jewish Insider reported he no longer sees a two-state solution as viable (November 2024). In office he voted for ICC sanctions and against both floor attempts to cut Israel funding — Greene's amendment to strip $500 million in missile-defense aid (July 2025) and Massie's to strip foreign military financing (July 2026).
A 1/2, not a clean 1. His votes and words are zero-daylight — trust the IDF, defer to Israel on strategy, both aid-cutting amendments opposed — with no expressed concern for Palestinian civilians, which rules out a flat 2; his rejection of a two-state solution keeps him at the pro-Israel end rather than softening it. But there is no leadership on the issue: none of his 23 sponsored bills and resolutions, nor his one amendment, touches Israel. Open to a flat 2 if a Gaza-civilian statement of his own surfaces.
