Robert Moesinger

I · U.S. House, UT-2 · Tier 2

Tier 2, “Mainstream pro-Israel”

Position

A Utah automation engineer running unaffiliated on a single reform — multi-party democracy through ranked-choice voting in multi-member House districts — he pledges to go home once it passes; Israel appears on his site only in a list of crises (“Hurricanes, Afghanistan, Libya, Ukraine, Israel, and the list continues”) that he says the out-of-power party exploits. Asked in iVoterGuide’s 2026 general-election questionnaire whether the U.S. relationship with Israel is important, Moesinger answered: “Our special relationship with Israel is undoubtedly important. We should honor our long-standing alliance, but this should be tempered with understanding and concern for the displaced Palestinian people. This is clearly a difficult problem, or we'd have have already found a solution sometime in the last 70 years. Above all, as Israel's long-standing ally, the United States has a special obligation to help facilitate a sustainable, peaceful outcome to the current conflict.”

Why this tier

A 2, on a thin record: one questionnaire answer. Asked by iVoterGuide in 2026 whether the U.S. relationship with Israel is important, Moesinger called the special relationship “undoubtedly important” and wrote: “We should honor our long-standing alliance, but this should be tempered with understanding and concern for the displaced Palestinian people.” That is support for the alliance with concern for displaced Palestinians, with no right-to-defend line and no step on aid. His campaign is about electoral reform, and his site’s one mention of Israel is an example of partisan point-scoring, not a position. Checked: his campaign site (every page) and his August 2026 Ballotpedia survey. Counter-cases: 2/3, giving the concern for displaced Palestinians more weight; 1/2, reading “honor our long-standing alliance” as the substance.
