Tier 4, “Critical / conditions aid”
In a video clip posted with a transcription on May 24, 2026, he said: “I would not vote for an appropriations package that is sending American weapons to fund what I don’t see any other term for than a genocide that’s going on in Gaza.” At a primary debate reported by Jewish Insider (May 29, 2026) he called for “strict enforced humanitarian requirements on any aid that we are providing countries overseas” — “That needs to apply to Israel” — and disavowed AIPAC support. A smokejumper and union leader endorsed by Bernie Sanders, he won the June 2 primary for the open MT-1 and faces Republican Aaron Flint.
A 4. As a challenger, he has no votes in Congress, so his words are the record. They reach 4: the genocide named in his own voice, a pledge not to vote for weapons appropriations that fund it, enforced humanitarian conditions on aid to Israel, and a disavowal of AIPAC, with no two-state or right-to-defend frame found beside them. He has not called for a full embargo including defensive systems or an end to all military aid, which a 5 would need. The genocide-and-weapons quote rests on a video clip posted by a third party; on the Jewish Insider conditioning quote alone he would sit at 3/4.
