Sam Husseini

I · U.S. House, MD-4 · Tier 6

Tier 6, “Most critical of Israel / supports Palestine”

Position

Veteran journalist and longtime Institute for Public Accuracy analyst, running on the Green line against Glenn Ivey, whom his platform brands “AIPAC” Ivey. His issues page calls to “Stop genocide of Palestinians in Gaza, all funding to apartheid Israel”; his August 2026 launch calls the Iran war “just the latest of these imperial-zionist wars”; and in February 2024 he wrote that Gaza's refugees do have somewhere to go — “Their homes in what is now Israel.” As Netanyahu addressed the UN on Sep 24, 2026, Husseini said “Of course Netanyahu should be arrested while visiting the US. Unfortunately we’re unlikely to see that happen given that so many government officials are complicit in his crimes against humanity”; on Sep 16, attacking Ivey’s vote for the Antisemitism Awareness Act, he said “Conflating criticism of Israel with antisemitism is a strategy that is intended to dampen legitimate First Amendment-protected speech.” Interviewed by Fox News Digital at an October 10, 2026 march in Washington, he said his long-term vision is “one person, one vote” with a Palestinian right of return (“as a descendant of a Palestinian who was forcibly displaced, I should have that right or compensation”), and floated naming the single state “1948,” for “the year of this cataclysm, which should be the last gasp of imperialism.”

Why this tier

A 6. He meets Tier 5 in his own words — a platform to end “all funding to apartheid Israel,” with no Iron Dome or defensive carve-out — and he questions Israel’s legitimacy: he backs the Palestinian right of return in his own voice (February 2024), calls Israel a settler colonial state, and frames the Nakba as Zionism's continuing ethnic cleansing. That rests on sustained activism rather than a thin record — decades at the Institute for Public Accuracy and a years-long push for the Genocide Convention case and UN sanctions against Israel — with no hedging: no two-state or right-to-exist language was found, and in October 2026 he told Fox News Digital that his long-term vision is “one person, one vote.” He also opposes Zionism by name — his 2023 essay is titled “75 Years of Israel and Zionism’s Continuing Ethnic Cleansing of Palestinians,” and his 2026 launch calls the Iran war one of “these imperial-zionist wars.” The counter-case for 5/6 is only that BDS is not part of his campaign: he names it in passing, regretting in July 2025 that “BDS efforts” have “generally been minimized” and calling Noam Chomsky’s stances on “BDS” and “two state” “plain wrong” (November 2025).
