Scott Meyers

R · U.S. House, CA-30 · Tier 1/2

Tier 1/2, between “Firmly pro-Israel” and “Mainstream pro-Israel”

Position

An attorney and lifelong Southern Californian, challenging Rep. Laura Friedman, he runs on the border, law and order, spending oversight, election integrity and keeping “boys out of girls sports.” Asked in iVoterGuide’s 2026 general-election questionnaire whether the U.S. relationship with Israel is important, Meyers answered: “This is an absolute critical relationship and commitment to keep. For Israel to remain in existence, it cannot afford to lose a single war. It is a fully functioning and open democracy with an estimated 250,000 Americans with dual citizenship with Israel. Israel is also surrounded by a religion that has always sought conversion through violent means. We cannot forget this.”

Why this tier

A 1/2, on a thin record: one questionnaire answer. Asked by iVoterGuide in 2026 whether the U.S. relationship with Israel is important, Meyers called it “an absolute critical relationship and commitment to keep” and said that “For Israel to remain in existence, it cannot afford to lose a single war,” describing Israel as “surrounded by a religion that has always sought conversion through violent means.” That is a commitment to Israel’s wars, not only ally words, with no word for Palestinian civilians. His Ballotpedia survey and campaign site never mention Israel, Gaza or Palestine. There is no leadership on the issue: no vote, bill or other act on Israel is on record. Counter-case: unrated until he says more.
