Tier 1/2, between “Firmly pro-Israel” and “Mainstream pro-Israel”
Republican nominee in NJ-5, a healthcare and finance executive challenging Josh Gottheimer as a “socially moderate” Republican. His platform section “Standing With Our Allies & Protecting Our Communities” pledges to “Stand firmly with Israel and take strong action against antisemitism” and to “Strengthen intelligence-sharing and counterterrorism efforts”; it states no view on aid, conditions or Gaza. In October 2026 he told the New Jersey Monitor that Rep. Gregory Meeks’s hold on a $2.8 billion sale of one-ton bombs to Israel “actually makes me happy because it shows me that there are some controls in place, and that someone is actually looking over their shoulder and just not handing out bombs and weapons,” adding, of federal spending generally, that any program that cannot pass an audit “should be shut down or stalled until it can.” In a NorthJersey.com voter guide published October 23, 2026, the outlet reported that he called the U.S. relationship with Israel vital but would support putting conditions on American aid; he said: “Any nation we give aid to, we should be placing reasonable restrictions on to make sure that, as an example, for providing weapons or munitions, that they’re not being used on innocent citizens or used inappropriately.”
A 1/2 on a thin record. His platform line is firm support for Israel paired with antisemitism and counterterrorism — reliable-support language with no leadership on the issue and no expressed concern for Palestinian civilians. In October 2026 he also welcomed the congressional hold on a $2.8 billion sale of one-ton bombs to Israel as a sign “that someone is actually looking over their shoulder and just not handing out bombs and weapons” — oversight language, framed around spending controls rather than Gaza. In a voter guide published October 23, 2026 he went further, backing “reasonable restrictions” so that weapons or munitions given to any nation are “not being used on innocent citizens” — conditioning language, though stated for every aid recipient rather than for Israel or Gaza by name. Open to a flat 2 on the bomb-sale remark, or if he addresses Gaza’s civilians.
