Tier 3/4, between “Pro-Israel, critical” and “Critical / conditions aid”
Chicago real-estate owner and perennial Republican nominee against Mike Quigley. Asked by the Sun-Times in October 2024 what Congress should do about the war, he answered in full: “Cease fire. Stop funding the war.” On Ukraine he wrote “Stop sending money and our troops to other countries.” His 2026 campaign site does not address Israel or Gaza.
A 3/4, on a thin record. As a challenger, he has no votes in Congress, so his words are the record. His one statement — a ceasefire and an end to U.S. funding of the war — goes past conditioning toward cutting military support. What holds it at 3/4 rather than 4 or 5 is how thin and general it is: six words from 2024, not restated in 2026, with no mention of weapons, Palestinian civilians or the genocide, and it sits inside a blanket non-interventionism (“Stop sending money and our troops to other countries”). Counter-case: NR, if it is generic anti-foreign-spending rather than an Israel position.
