Tier 1/2, between “Firmly pro-Israel” and “Mainstream pro-Israel”
Former Secret Service and CIA officer running on energy, small business and a Safe Communities and Secure America plan. In the Cardinal News voter guide he wrote “I do not support an arms embargo on Israel” and that Hamas “cannot be permitted to remain a military or governing force in Gaza,” while calling for humanitarian aid to “reach innocent civilians”; in October 2023 Law Enforcement Today reported him working in Israel after the Hamas attack, helping locate missing people and move civilians to safety.
A 1/2, on a thin record: one questionnaire answer, though a full one. Asked by Cardinal News whether he would support an arms embargo, he answered “I do not support an arms embargo on Israel. America should stand with its allies, particularly when they are confronting terrorism,” and said Hamas “cannot be permitted to remain a military or governing force in Gaza.” His humanitarian lines (aid must “reach innocent civilians”; a future in which “Palestinian families can live with dignity and opportunity”) come framed around defeating Hamas and beside his refusal to limit weapons. There is no leadership on the issue: he holds no office and has written no Israel legislation. In October 2023 Law Enforcement Today reported him in Israel after the Hamas attack, helping locate missing people. Counter-case: a flat 2, crediting the concern for Palestinian families.
