Tier 1/2, between “Firmly pro-Israel” and “Mainstream pro-Israel”
Wisconsin Republican elected in 2024. His one Israel statement, during the June 2025 Israel–Iran war, mixed America First restraint with support for Israel: “We've seen what endless wars yield”, but “Israel, like all sovereign nations, has every right to defend itself from Iran and other rogue actors who do not believe it has a right to exist” and “We can support Israel and stop Iran from building nuclear weapons without starting a new, and potentially endless, war.” In office he has voted the pro-Israel side of every tracked measure — the January 2025 ICC-sanctions bill, No on the 2025 Greene and July 2026 Massie cuts, Yea on the July 2026 State Department bill and the September 2026 college anti-boycott bill — and against every 2026 Iran and Lebanon war-powers resolution.
A 1/2, not a clean 1. His votes are zero-daylight and his only Israel statement affirms Israel's right to defend itself, with nothing on Gaza or Palestinian civilians, which rules out a flat 2. His restraint language is about keeping U.S. troops out of a war with Iran, not about limiting arms to Israel, and he voted against every Iran war-powers resolution, so it does not count toward the critical end. Nothing in the record is leadership: none of his 21 sponsored measures concerns Israel. Counter-case: none found either way; the record is thin, as he has been in office only since the 2024 election.
