Tier 1/2, between “Firmly pro-Israel” and “Mainstream pro-Israel”
Mississippi Republican and Armed Services subcommittee chair who has voted for every tracked Israel measure: the Israel-only supplementals of November 2023 and February 2024 and the April 2024 package, the censure of Rashida Tlaib, H.Res.894, the May 2024 bill to force the paused bomb shipment, both ICC-sanctions bills (Jun 2024, Jan 2025), the June 2024 amendment barring use of Gaza Health Ministry casualty figures and the September 2026 college anti-boycott bill, and against the 2025 Greene and 2026 Massie cuts. He was an original cosponsor of H.Res.771, “Standing with Israel” (Oct 2023), and of H.R.8369, the bomb-shipment bill (May 2024), and a cosponsor of H.R.7217, the February 2024 Israel-only supplemental; neither his official site nor his campaign site carries any statement on Israel or Gaza.
A 1/2. A zero-daylight voting record with no leadership on the issue: none of his 66 sponsored bills and resolutions, nor his one amendment, concerns Israel, his defense and intelligence roles are not Israel advocacy, and he leads no Israel caucus. No statement of concern for Gaza's civilians during the genocide was found; apart from his signatures on the January 2024 Smith–Manning letter, whose signers “thoroughly reject” South Africa’s “charge of genocide” against Israel, and the October 2024 Lawler–Moskowitz letter warning the UN Secretary-General that “any downgrade in Israel’s status or standing” at the General Assembly “will result in a corresponding downgrade of U.S. financial, material and political support to the UN,” the record is his votes and cosponsorships.
