Victoria Spartz
R · U.S. House, IN-5 · Tier 1/2
Tier 1/2, between “Firmly pro-Israel” and “Mainstream pro-Israel”
Said two days after October 7, 2023, that “the United States will stand with the people of Israel in their fight to defend themselves and their nation,” casting Hamas as a tool of Tehran and Moscow. She was an original cosponsor of the Stand with Israel Act, which would bar funding for the UN Human Rights Council until it condemns Hamas (Oct 2023). She cosponsored the Antisemitism Awareness Act (Mar 2024) and voted for the Israel-only supplementals (Nov 2023, Feb 2024), the April 2024 package, the bill to force the paused bomb shipment (May 2024), ICC sanctions (Jun 2024 and Jan 2025) and the amendment barring the State Department from citing Gaza Health Ministry casualty figures (Jun 2024), and against the July 2026 Massie amendment to strip Israel's military financing. She did not vote on the 2025 Greene amendment to cut Israeli missile-defense aid or the September 2026 college anti-boycott bill. Asked in iVoterGuide’s 2026 general-election questionnaire whether the U.S. relationship with Israel is important, Spartz answered: “An important ally and democracy in the Middle East.”
A 1/2, not a clean 1. The voting record is pro-Israel without a dissent, and her statements — among them an October 2023 release, an October 2024 call to “work with our Middle Eastern allies to help Israel establish lasting peace in the region” and her 2026 iVoterGuide answer — are stand-with-Israel messaging with no concern for Palestinian civilians in her own words, so a flat 2 does not fit; the two missed votes are absences with no stated objection. There is no leadership on the issue: no authored Israel legislation (0 of 44 sponsored bills and resolutions and 5 amendments) and no caucus role. Her other foreign-policy releases are about Ukraine.
